Financial Base

On-the-air for more than ten years, Central New Hampshire and the Lakes Region Christian Radio Stations are high on "the ratings" of listeners throughout our coverage area.

The NH Gospel Radio basic operations budget stands at $75,000 annually, modest for such a ministry, due to 100% volunteerism and very careful management of funds entrusted to the Board.

Our support comes from three major sources: individual gifts and monthly supporters, churches viewing the station as part of their missionary outreach, and business and church underwriting of programming on the NH Gospel Radio Network.

Thus far we have been blessed with hundreds of individuals who have given gifts or made monthly commitments to this ministry.

Our vision to extend this ministry goes far beyond today's basic operation and current expenses. Thus, we urge continued prayer, giving and underwriting of our programming. We do need increased financial resources in order to reach our goals of extending the gospel.

Underwriting Policy
NH Gospel Radio welcomes program underwriting to supplement local church and listener support. However, potential conflict of interest and possible listener misperception or confusion regarding the underwriter's role and/or influence on programming will be considered in accepting or rejecting underwriting.

Guidelines for Underwriting Programs
Underwriters of the programming on noncommercial radio stations are legally required to be identified. Although contributors receive on-air acknowledgments, the Federal Communications Commission has unequivocally stated that such acknowledgments may be made "for identification purposes only and should not promote the contributor's products, services, or company." Accordingly such announcements may not contain comparative or qualitative descriptions, price information, calls to action, or inducements to buy, sell, rent or lease.

FCC guidelines provide that " . . . donor acknowledgments utilized by public broadcasters may include (1) logos or slogans which identify and do not promote, (2) location, (3) value neutral descriptions of a product line or service, (4) brand and trade names and product or service listings."

FCC guidelines specifically prohibit noncommercial stations from broadcasting announcements that promote the sale of goods and services of for-profit entities in exchange for consideration paid to the station. On WVNH, your underwriting announcement can state your name, location and describe your product or service without making a qualitative, comparative or promotional statement.
