Vision
Currently
limited by a transmitter of 650 watts, the Directors of
WVNH intend that the future will include the development
of a network of translators (small transmitters) to strengthen
our signal and expand our listening community.
Also
in the works are plans to develop more local programming
for the station. Locally conducted Bible studies, and interviews
of Christian testimony, pastors' forums and devotionals
will be developed. We desire to assist local churches through
PSA (public service announcements) promotion of their programs
and events. Community service projects such as blood drives
and disaster reliefs are high on the agenda. We really want
to give WVNH a local flavor and serve all of the communities
within our listening area.
History
It
was 1986 when the vision of several Concord area Christians
began a process which, on March 7, 1999, finally blossomed
into the first broadcast of WVNH radio. They were not, however,
13 easy years.
Much
prayer, plenty of work and much frustration were characteristic
of the process. In 1996 Rev. Walter Holder joined five other
committed believers to help launch what seemed to be a futile
effort. "It must have been God that brought me into it;
I'm not one to board a sunken ship." Holder said. "Before
too long, by God's grace, the tide was turning for the station,
and suddenly that vision was virtually being resurrected from
the dead."
Most
frustrating had been the Board's attempt to find a site for
the transmitter. The breakthrough finally came in the Spring
of 1998, when a Gilmanton woman with property on a lofty hill
agreed to make her ideal property available. The Board of
six immediately recognized this as a divine intervention,
an evident provision from the Lord. "As it turned out,
God had something better in mind for us than we had ever imagined!
We moved on to construct the transmitter/antenna on the best
site our engineer had seen in all his long searches."
The
Federal Communications Commission issued the construction
permit in February of 1999.
After
two weeks of testing in late February and early March of
1999, on March 7 at 12:15 P.M., WVNH hit the public airwaves
for real and has been broadcasting 24 hours a day, seven
days a week ever since. To God be the glory, great things
He has done!
Statement
of Faith
1.
WE BELIEVE the Bible, consisting of the Old and New Testament,
to be the only inspired, inerrant, infallible, authoritative
Word of God written.
2.
WE BELIEVE that there is one God eternally existent in three
persons: Father, Son and Holy Spirit.
3.
WE BELIEVE in the deity of Christ, in His virgin birth, in
His sinless life, in His miracles, in His vicarious and atoning
death through His shed blood, in His bodily resurrection,
in His ascension to the right hand of the Father, and in His
personal return in power and glory.
4.
WE BELIEVE that for salvation of lost and sinful man regeneration
by the Holy Spirit is absolutely essential. Salvation is by
grace alone through personal faith in the Lord Jesus Christ.
His death for man's sin and His resurrection, and His promised
eternal life.
5.
WE BELIEVE in the present ministry of the Holy Spirit by Whose
indwelling power and fullness the Christian is enabled to
live a godly life in this present evil world. The evidence
of the Holy Spirit's ministry is His grace, His fruit and
His gifts.
6.
WE BELIEVE in the resurrection of both the saved
and the lost; they that are saved unto the resurrection
of life, and they that are lost unto the resurrection of
damnation.
7.
WE BELIEVE in the spiritual unity of all believers in Christ.
